Competitors
Benchmark your AI visibility against competitors and identify exactly where they're outperforming you.
Open in appThe Competitors page shows how your competitors perform in the same set of prompts you're tracking. When you add a competitor, Airefs runs your prompts for their domain too — so comparisons are always on identical queries in the same time window.
Share of voice leaderboard
The Overview page includes a leaderboard ranking every tracked brand by Mentions and Citations across your prompts.
The leaderboard ranks every tracked brand across two dimensions: Mentions and Citations. Mentions is the share of prompts where a brand appeared. Citations is the share where they were linked as a source.
A competitor can rank #1 on mentions with zero citations. That means the AI names them but doesn't draw from their content. The reverse is equally common — high citations with low mentions means sourcing influence without top placement.
Both gaps point to different opportunities. A competitor ahead on mentions has built brand presence in AI responses. One ahead on citations owns the content the AI trusts.
This is where most teams first see why they're invisible when competitors appear regularly. The reason is almost always specific articles or Reddit threads. Find them on the Sources page.
Potential competitors
Below your tracked list, Airefs shows a Potential competitors section — brands that appear often in your prompts but that you haven't added yet. These aren't brands you've researched; they're brands the AI is already recommending alongside or instead of you. If a name appears here repeatedly, track it to see exactly where they appear and why.
Closing the gap
When a competitor outranks you on a set of prompts, the fix is almost always content and community — not technical changes. Use the rest of the platform to find the specific levers:
- Check Sources to see which content is being cited for them. If the top-cited article is outdated or thin, that's an opening — a fresher, more comprehensive piece can take its place.
- Review the Prompts page to see the exact queries where competitors appear and you don't.
- Go to Articles to find content formats worth creating, and Discussions to find threads worth joining.
