WordPress Plugin
Install the Airefs plugin to automatically track AI crawler impressions and human clicks from AI search — no code required.
The plugin handles everything server-side: it detects AI crawler visits and human referrals from AI answers, and sends them to Airefs automatically. Once it's active and connected, both Impressions and Clicks will start populating in your dashboard.
Installing the plugin
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
- Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
- Search for Airefs.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
Alternatively, download the plugin directly from wordpress.org/plugins/airefs and upload it via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
Connecting your account
After activation, go to Settings → Airefs in your WordPress admin. Enter your Airefs API key — you'll find it in your Airefs account under Settings → Tracking — then click Save Settings.
That's it. Tracking starts immediately.
A note on caching plugins
Tracking runs server-side when the page is requested, before caching layers serve a cached copy. AI crawler impressions are always detected. Human click tracking may occasionally be missed if a fully cached response bypasses PHP entirely — in that case, consider supplementing with the API integration.
